March Is Comin’ in Hot: A Look at Spring Events in Charleston 🌸

March in Charleston doesn’t ease in — it arrives loud, busy, and packed with can’t-miss events, officially kicking off spring in the Lowcountry. From iconic festivals and races to community fundraisers and outdoor fun, this month is when Charleston really shows off. (Scroll down to see a full rundown of events)

We’re starting strong with the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, a longtime Lowcountry favorite that brings chefs, tastemakers, and food lovers together from near and far. It’s the kind of event that reminds us why Charleston’s culinary scene is nationally recognized — and why March is the perfect time to be downtown.

Mid-month brings another beloved tradition: the Charleston Bluegrass Festival, where live music, laid-back vibes, and waterfront views set the tone for spring weekends ahead. Not long after, tennis fans can catch world-class matches at the Credit One Charleston Open, an event that blends elite competition with Charleston hospitality and coastal scenery.

And of course, no March roundup would be complete without the grand finale — the Cooper River Bridge Run. Whether you’re running, cheering from the sidelines, or just navigating traffic with patience, this race truly marks the transition into springtime in Charleston.

Beyond the big-name events, there’s plenty to celebrate locally. One of our favorite traditions is Paws in the Park at No Bull Burger Bar, supporting Charleston Animal Society. It’s a feel-good day filled with furry friends, community support, and a great reminder of how much Charleston loves its animals.

Spring florals also take center stage at the Flowertown Festival in Summerville, where gardens are in full bloom and local artists line the streets — a true visual sign that winter is officially behind us.

Our March Events at Coastal Island Properties

March is also a busy month for us at Coastal Island Properties. Our FREE Community Shred Event returns on March 19th, giving neighbors a chance to safely shred old documents, declutter their homes and offices, and support Dragon Boat Charleston through voluntary donations.

Later in the month, we’re proud to sponsor and attend the Throw To Grow Women & Girls Disc Golf Tournament. We’ll be out there supporting the players, handing out snacks, and cheering on an incredible group of women and girls — exactly the kind of community-driven event we love being part of.
